For their retirement, these homeowners wanted a place that would give them more time in the garden and less time managing a home — a rural retreat built for a quieter pace of life. Designed to support aging-in-place, the home features single-floor living throughout, wide doorways, and curbless showers.
Though modest at 1,600 square feet, the home feels expansive. An open floor plan and soaring ceilings create a sense of volume, while double doors connecting the den to the great room add flexibility and an extra layer of spaciousness when opened. A side entrance links the garage and workshop to a vestibule and mud room, offering a practical transition before reaching the main living spaces.
As with our Timbercab designs, exposed timber and expansive glazing bring warmth and natural light into every room. In the kitchen, a two-sided cabinet wall serves double duty — functioning as both kitchen storage and a graceful divider for the side entrance hall.
